Exquisite Corpse

Lawrence University Senior Exhibition, Class of 2017

The culmination of four years of experimentation, sweat, and love, the 2017 Senior Class Exhibition brought together the unique talents of 13 students graduating within the major of Studio Art. My collection of work, Exquisite Corpse, focused on the downfalls of medical sexism in the Renaissance and Victorian Era, and how mythos of bygone eras still effect women’s healthcare today.

A Fine Specimen

The Lawrence University Vertebrate Collection is a rarely seen archive of natural history, spanning over 200 years and housing some 300 birds. In the Fall of 2016 I began learning the traditional art of specimen skin preparation under the tutelage of Jodi Sedlock, Associate Professor of Biology, and have since added skins of birds collected on campus, as well as digitized and catalogued the antique collection. The show opened March 12, 2017 in the Lawrence University Mudd Gallery, and ran for 4 weeks.
